Not all celebrations are alike

Whereas in 2008 the family enjoyed the comfort of a hot tub. Relaxed to the max.

In 2009 time was spent putting new memory in a laptop. After all this we need a little more time in the hot tub.

2010 Olympic torch run

The torch to begin the 2010 Olympics has been making its rounds throughout Canada over the past several days. Sunday, December 20 was the date it made its way through Beamsville. Everyone from the Tintern congregation was invited to view the torch run from the Tallman's parking lot. Then following the run we were invited to have a bowl of chili at the Fireside Room. This was an exciting gathering. A friend of ours will be carrying the flag on December 28. We will only get to view that on TV. Since he lives in Meaford I think that will be the area in which he will run.

Shoe story

Not to be outdone by my daughter, I must post my feelings about my new shoes. I have recently had to get shoes with a wider toe box to accommodate problems with my feet. Now if I had a size 5 foot like my daughter it would not be so bad but a size 9 1/2 makes it really embarrassing. When I saw the "WIDE" sign attached to them I thought about the wide loads going down the highway that have a truck preceding and following to warn other drivers of the "WIDE" load. But, just today I thought of a good use for these shoes. If I am ever tempted to water ski I will be able to just use my shoes for skis. Start that boat and away we go!!
Oh, well. The shoes are more comfortable and I am thankful that shoe companies have put together shoes that will accommodate my problem. Now if I can just get enough money together to pay for them.

BAD Day Coming

You know its going to be a bad day when you start to get in the car and before you get in, your husband takes a notion to turn on the windshield washers. Not a good way to get your eye glasses cleaned!!

Lauren Discovers Grandma Smith's purse

Lauren knew what each item was. The pen
light was a new item but in just moments
she got the hang of using it.

Renewing friendships

A beautiful Sunday afternoon drive brought
us to Stratford for a visit with the Hoover clan.
Deborah and Paul , who live just down the
street from Marj. Their two sons are
attending GLCHS.
Kelvin and Kathy are pictured with Deborah'
sons Ben and Joe.

Steve lives in Windsor. His wife Diane was not
able to be there with him.
It was a great reunion! Nice for Marj to
have her family with her for a few days.

A Day at the Ball Park

The GO train was another new experience for Jacob and Lauren

A pair of binoculars for each of the kids.

Nachos for lunch!

The loong walk back through the Skywalk to catch the GO train.

What to do while waiting?

A tired senior and tired and great grandson.

Budding Artists

Looks like we have a budding artist!

When Linda a Trista went to the store to get toys

Lauren saw the canvas and paints and would not settle for anything else.

Well, maybe two budding artists!

Jacob got in on the act.

All this after a very tiring day at Niagara Falls.
